The objective of the European Commission Initiative on Lung Cancer (EC-LuC) is to develop evidence-based recommendations for cancer prevention, screening and diagnosis, and a voluntary European quality assurance scheme for lung cancer care services.
Based on the latest scientific evidence available, the EC-LuC seeks to offer clear and independent guidance on prevention, screening and care to healthcare providers and individuals.

The European Commission’s Joint Research Centre (JRC), in collaboration with the Directorate General for Health and Food Safety (DG SANTE) is hereby calling for expression of interest from potential candidates to be appointed to the Working Group of the European Commission Initiative on Lung Cancer (EC-LuC).
We are seeking for expressions of interest from clinical, scientific and technical experts in areas related to lung cancer screening, diagnosis and care (please see Annex I of the call document), as well as from patients and/or caregivers, to be appointed as members of the EC-LuC Working Group.
Therefore, as an outcome of this call, we will appoint for the EC initiative on lung cancer, the:
- Chair,
- Vice-Chair, and
- Working Group members
