Last week the JRC hosted the second three-day in person meeting this year of the working group on colorectal cancer screening, diagnosis and follow-up care. The meeting saw the approval of general requirements for cancer services, such as on patient centeredness and information, adherence to guidelines, patient reported outcomes, data governance, ensuring training of staff. Regarding the guideline developments, two further recommendations on inviting persons to screening were approved, in addition to the recent agreements reached on 15 guideline recommendations regarding screening ages, tests and frequencies. The meeting was concluded with prioritisations for the work in 2025/26.
